Alea Pro License

Version 1.2 · Last updated October 28, 2026

Copyright (c) 2026 Alejandro Vasquez (https://www.alevasquez.dev/). All rights reserved.

This license covers Alea Pro: the packages @alea-design/pro and @alea-design/blocks, the Pro components and blocks copied with @alea-design/cli, and the Alea Figma kit ("the Product").

1. What a license lets you do

A license is for one developer (a "seat"). The licensed developer may:

  • use the Product to build any number of end products for themselves, their employer or their clients;
  • modify the Product's source for those end products;
  • ship the Product as part of an end product, compiled or bundled, to that end product's users.

A team needs one seat per developer who works with the Product's source, and per designer who uses the Figma kit. A seat can be moved to another person in the same team.

2. What you may not do

  • Share, sell, sublicense or publish the Product's source, the Figma kit or your license key, on their own or in a repository others can access outside your organization (including public repositories).
  • Use the Product to make anything people build interfaces with: templates, themes, UI kits, component libraries, design systems offered to others, or website and app builders.
  • Use the Product's source or the Figma kit to train or fine-tune machine learning models, or make them available to others through an AI tool. Using AI assistants with the source to build your own end products is allowed.
  • Remove this license or the copyright notices from the source.

An "end product" is a site, app or tool with its own purpose beyond showing the Product. A starter kit or boilerplate whose main value is the Product is not an end product. Open source end products may depend on the Product as long as its source is not committed to their repositories.

3. The Figma kit

You may use the kit in your and your team's Figma files and publish it as a library inside your organization, and share designs made with it. You may not redistribute the kit file or the plugin, or publish them to the Figma Community.

4. Name and logo

"Alea" and its logo identify the Product. You may say your product is built with Alea; you may not use the name or logo as your product's name or to suggest endorsement. No attribution is required.

5. Plans and keys

  • Alea Pro Solo: $199, 1 seat, up to 3 activations of the key.
  • Alea Pro Team: $499, up to 5 named seats in the same team, up to 15 activations of the key.
  • The price is a one-time payment. There is no subscription.
  • A license key never expires.
  • Updates of the current major version are free.

6. Updates and delivery

The Product is delivered through a private registry and the CLI with your license key. Updates of the current major version are included for as long as you use the Product; a license key never expires. A future major version can be offered as a discounted upgrade. Licenses are sold through Lemon Squeezy; their terms of sale and the refund policy apply to the purchase.

7. No warranty and limit of liability

THE PRODUCT IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE PRODUCT, AND THE AUTHOR'S TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT PAID FOR THE LICENSE.

8. Ending

The license ends if you break these terms. On ending, stop using the Product in new work; end products shipped before then may keep running.

The free parts of Alea (@alea-design/ui, @alea-design/motion, @alea-design/tokens, @alea-design/cli) are under the MIT license and are not covered here.

  • 1.1 (October 27, 2026): Added section 5, plans and keys (prices, activations, keys never expire, updates). The rest of the wording is unchanged.
